Demonolatry
Demonolatry refers to any of several religious traditions whose adherents worship or communicate with spirits known as demons. The definition of "demon" may differ between practitioners. The most common forms of demonolatry center on the Goetic demons, a group of roughly 72 spirits described in various grimoires from the 15th century onward.
Relationship to Satanism
Demonolatry can be viewed as a Satanism-adjacent religion. Many demonolators are also theistic Satanists, and some forms of theistic Satanism also incorporate the Goetic demons. Those who are both Satanists and demonolators usually view Satanael as a demon, considering him to be one of the highest demons or the reigning king of hell. Some demonolatrous Satanists exhibit a belief in the Lucifer-Satan distinction, which Satano-Grigorists consider to be a false distinction.
