Satano-Grigorist Pocket Guide
The Satano-Grigorist Pocket Guide (SGPG) is a handbook that codifies the beliefs and practices of Satano-Grigorism. It is the primary reference for the religion and the recommended starting point for serious study.

Versions
As of June 19, 2026, the current version of the Satano-Grigorist Pocket Guide is version 4.0, released on April 14, 2025.
The Temple periodically releases new versions of the Pocket Guide. A new version may explain topics in more detail, add new practices and terminology, or correct outdated information.
While some nikarūma criticize the idea of change in a religion's foundational document, Satano-Grigorists take pride in the periodic renewal of the Pocket Guide, because Satanael teaches that it is virtuous to learn from past mistakes and constantly strive for improvement. Corrective change is superior to doctrinal stagnation; the abandonment of false beliefs and unproductive practices is a necessity for the pursuit of Ascendance.
The release of a new version is always a joyous occasion among Temple members, because a new Guide codifies the overall progress made by the Temple since the last version was released. Every member contributes in some way to this progress. New Guide versions are also recognized as the culmination of many months of hard work by the kāhinūma, and this, too, is celebrated.
Another factor, practicality, also contributes to the Temple's decision to periodically revise the Guide. Outlining all the essential information into one easily accessible resource is quite challenging, especially considering the degree of complexity inherent to the Satano-Grigorist belief system. Such a task requires years of revision and public feedback to ensure that all the necessary information is included in one text. For several reasons, it would have been impractical for the Temple to simply spend years developing the text for a single ideal release. That approach would deprive the public of any way to learn about Satano-Grigorism, which would have stifled the growth of the Temple in its early stages. Additionally, no amount of internal editing or improvement can ever replace honest public feedback. Every time an inquirer asks an important question whose answer cannot be found in the Pocket Guide, the kāhinūma take notice and attempt to address that topic in the next version.

The Satano-Grigorist Pocket Guide begins with a lengthy table of contents listing every chapter, section, and subsection in the Guide. The Temple recognizes that although the Pocket Guide is traditionally read linearly, it is also frequently used as a reference. To accommodate this popular use, the table of contents in version 4.0 of the Guide is designed to maximize ease of access to the specific information the reader may be searching for.
After the table of contents, the reader is brought to section 1, which states how to contact the Temple, and section 2, which gives a brief overview of the religion. Sections 3 and 4, which are the most important sections for most inquirers, come next. Section 3 outlines the core beliefs of Satano-Grigorism on various topics, while Section 4 lists the beliefs and ideologies that are incompatible with Satano-Grigorism because they contradict core elements of the faith. Sections 5-7 go into greater detail about Satano-Grigorist deities and theology. Satanael is covered first (in section 5), and the Watchers are explained thereafter (section 6). Section 7 is dedicated to spirits and the spiritual realm.
Section 8 covers the religion's panendeistic cosmology, with special emphasis on Motsai, while section 9 explains the Temple's beliefs on death and the afterlife. Sections 10 and 11 contain extensive information on Satano-Grigorist practices, including ritual, offering, and prayer, as well as animal sacrifice (dabḥu).
Section 12 outlines the structure and organization of the Temple itself, including information that prepares an aspirant for what to expect if they are accepted into the Temple. Section 12 also contains the Temple's membership criteria and explains the procedure for removal of a member.
Finally, section 13 covers the philosophical positions taught by the Temple, and section 14 outlines Satano-Grigorist ethics.
