Antitheism is an atheistic viewpoint that opposes the existence of religion. Antitheists believe that religion has a negative impact on society and that the world would be a better place without religion.

Claims

Antitheists believe that theism in the modern day is a form of delusion, and that humanity has outgrown the need for belief in gods. They view religion as a primitive attempt by ancient humans to explain scientific phenomena they could not yet understand.

Antitheists assert that the existence of religion in the modern day obstructs scientific development, hampers sociopolitical progress, and facilitates oppression.
